judyshepardIn October 1998, Judy and Dennis Shepard lost their 21-year-old son, Matthew, to a murder motivated by anti-gay hate. Determined to prevent others from suffering their son’s fate, Judy and Dennis decided to turn their grief into action and established the Matthew Shepard Foundation to carry on Matthew’s legacy. In her continuing role as board president, she travels across the nation speaking to audiences about what they can do as individuals and communities to make this world a more accepting place for everyone, regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, sex, gender identity and expression, or sexual orientation. Speaking from a mother’s perspective, Judy also authored a 2009 memoir, “The Meaning of Matthew.”

Arrival Time
Please arrive early out of respect for the performers and audience members. The lobby doors will open at least one hour prior to curtain and the Great Hall will open one half-hour prior to curtain. Latecomers will be asked to wait in the lobby and will be ushered to their seats during an appropriate pause in the performance. A full bar, beverage service and snacks are available.

Children
Parents should use discretion in deciding which events are appropriate for their children. To encourage families to experience the arts with their children, we offer discounts to children 18 years of age and younger. All children sitting in their own seats require tickets.
