As you make plans to attend a Kaleidoscope performance, you may consider "Making a day of it!" There are many educational opportunities for students outside of the traditional classroom that are near the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center. Below are a variety of attractions that are located right here on UNI's campus that may have a special connection with your curriculum goals.

The Kaleidoscope Connections program started in 2004 as enrichment to the Allen Hospital’s Kaleidoscope Series for Youth, “A Buck A Kid!” This program collaborates with students and faculty from the College of Education and offers opportunities for additional classroom experiences.

The Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center at the University of Northern Iowa responded to a call for proposals from the Iowa Mathematics and Science Education Partnership in its efforts to prepare more high-quality mathematics and science teachers for Iowa’s schools.

In the spring of 2003, the Waterloo Community School System and UNI’s Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center were amongst 12 teams of school systems and arts organizations selected nationally to participate in the Kennedy Center Partners in Education program.

The Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center's master classes and artist residencies offer students the opportunity to interact with high caliber professional artists. Performers willing to participate in this program provide students the opportunity to learn more about their particular art form and hear how they became successful in the entertainment industry.

It is suggested that your group arrive 20-30 minutes prior to the start of the performance.  Buses will utilize the frontage road for drop-off.  Buses will be greeted by GBPAC staff and will direct the driver to parking and the process for pick-up.   Also, groups will be dismissed by bus number after the performance, escorted by an usher to the appropriate bus.
